School Vegetable Garden Project

SCHOOL VEGETABLE GARDEN PROJECT

The Foundation for African Empowerment (FAE) working to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable children and young people including those with special educational needs and disabilities through its healthcare and nutrition/food program. FAE is seeking for partnership to start school vegetable garden project across Tanzania so as to bring education and nutritious food to vulnerable children in Tanzania. This project will also ensure that children and community members understand the value of nature and take all efforts to protect nature. It is from nature that human beings get food and other necessities. Human beings depend on nature to survive!

The success of this project will not only target school children but also school teachers, staff, parents and even local residents. It is expected that the garden program to have multiplier effects by encouraging the establishment of private vegetable gardens at the homes of school children.

The project’s overall goal is aimed at promoting nutrition, food security, health knowledge and good vegetable production practice in schools and the surrounding communities.
