Our Leadership

Leadership of the Foundation for African Empowerment (FAE) is provided by the following main organs: the General Assembly, the Board of Directors and the Secretariat or the Management Team.

The General Assembly

The General Assembly is the highest decision making body providing general strategic and policy direction for the FAE. It meets once every year as a forum which brings together all members of FAE comprising of board members, founding members, private sector, civil society, children, young people, academia, and parents of children with disabilities. 

The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is an organ that provides governance, strategic and policy direction and oversee the Management Team. Members come from diverse backgrounds and experiences related to the vision and mission of FAE. Board members must have regard to the cause, commitment, skills, knowledge, values and professional experience needed for the effective governance and development of FAE. As the Board Chair of the Board of Directors for the Foundation for African Empowerment (FAE), Rogers Ayiko  brings in a diverse blend of professional and academic background in medicine, international health.

Delvina Augustine Minja, Member

Manager, KCB Bank (T) Ltd

Delvina A. Minja has more than thirteen years  experience of working in banking industry and community based organizations. Ms. Minja has attended several trainings within and outside the Tanzania in marketing and public relations.

Having lived across 4 continents, worked on 6, spanning a couple of decades, I have experienced multiple cultures from Asia & Africa to Europe & the Americas. After leaving the British Council overseas postings I started consulting, designing and delivering training to help organisations through their people so they can be better; more efficient and effective.

He is a Board Member of FAE with an impressive experience of working with different local communities in Tanzania on animal welfare. Mr Lyimo is the Founder and President of Meru Animal Welfare Organization (MAWO) based in Arusha, Tanzania.

Samwel Mfanga, Ex Officio

Executive Director, FAE

Along with his strong conviction in the power of empowering people for transformational and sustainable development, Mr. Mfanga brings more than 25 years-experience of working and living in Africa

The Management Team

The Secretariat or Management Team is the executive body of FAE. It is composed of qualified professionals who are responsible for the day to day running of the affairs of FAE. The Executive Director is the head of the secretariat, chief executive officer, legal representative, and the accounting officer.
